We strive to advance these rights in all aspects of the environment and the services we provide and will endeavour to encourage all our residents to exercise their rights to the full, in a family-like environment. We are committed to achieving our stated aims and objectives, driven by the needs, abilities and aspirations of our residents.
The physical, emotional and spiritual well being of residents at Charnley House is the paramount consideration at all times. Charnley House strives to ensure that all residents have the right to decide for themselves as far as possible. The right to privacy is respected and residents are encouraged to do all that they are able to do for themselves, secure in the knowledge that assistance will always be provided at any time, in a dignified and respectful manner. The dignity of all those who wish to make Charnley House their home is upheld and respected by all staff.
The accommodation at Charnley House is designed and maintained to promote a homely atmosphere. The majority of the residents have single bedrooms and all are encouraged to personalise their rooms.
Meals are nutritionally balanced, well presented and the portions are plentiful. There is always a choice of menu and special diets are catered for by experienced cooks. Staff are available to make drinks for residents and/or their guests at any time.
Charnley House has a full calendar of social events, activities and outings and residents may participate if they wish. However, the right to decline involvement is also respected.
We all think of Charnley House as a home for the residents, with trained, caring staff on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We aim to allow residents to live a comfortable, safe and enjoyable life, in a secure environment where they feel they can belong and call ‘Home’.
