June started off ok but then nose-dived, a couple of warm sunny days does not a summer make! We managed to get the patio furniture out twice this month, hardly overused. But, everyone feels comfortable in these temperatures so we shouldn’t complain. Doesn’t mean we don’t though!
The clothing party by Peter and Barbara Smith on the 13th was succesful, a good range of clothing at reasonable prices. Some of the residents browsed and chose new things, the staff helped others to choose. Peter and Barbara are coming again on Dec. 5th, in time for the Christmas festivities.
The cruise on the New Horizons Canal Boat on the 24th went well. We managed to persuade eight residents to spend the afternoon on the boat with carers Kelly and Anne, the weather was right for ice lollies from Poyton Marina. It’s a lovely time out, so peaceful and relaxing, hard to believe you’re sailing on the edge of a major city like Manchester. Wish more residents wanted to take advantage of the trips, but of course, it’s their right to refuse to leave the house.
